It's 1:23am as I begin this entry, a time when I should be sleeping. At 7:30, I was ridiculously tired and decided to go to sleep. I thought "oh wow, I can sleep for 13 hours or so and it would be so wonderful!" NOT! So, I put on my eye mask and headphones, but this time I played a relaxation app. I think I fell asleep immediately because I don't remember hearing much after the music began. Wouldn't you know I would wake up at 11:30pm feeling wide awake. Pfff! I gotta get on track with the sleep thing. Its bad enough that I am a night owl anyway and usually stay up until 1-2 am, but here there is a 13 hour time difference, so I'm really mixed up. The last two trips here I did not experience any jet lag. Perhaps that was because we had full itineraries from morning til night.
I just brewed some barley tea. I considered resorting and repacking my suitcases since I will be moving on Monday. I tried to prepare for the Guesthouse stay by leaving outfits accessible in my bag for the week, but the weather changed my plans and I have opened up each and every space bag digging for what I need. Travel Space Bags are great, only problem is that they compact the clothes so much, you can't see what is in the bag! And when you wear a lot of black, everything looks the same when squished vacuum tight. My future solution will be a post-it note inside the bag listing the contents and I will pack more like items together. Packing became last on the list in preparation for the trip, so I didn't have the luxury of being as organized as I would have liked. Oh well...
To my surprise, within my bag was an envelope and cards from home. The envelope contained two pictures that Tyler colored for me. They are very special and I have them by my bedside. He is really good at staying in the lines which makes his OCD mama very proud! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, right? One of our favorite activities together is coloring. I don't think I ever stopped loving coloring books. I admit I get excited by a fresh box of perfectly pointy crayons. :) Life's simple pleasures.
Nearly finished with my tea. Although I would love to tackle repacking, I think it is a wiser choice to go to sleep. Goodnight!
